Barqa is one of the Lebanese villages in the Deir al-Ahmar area in the Baalbek District. It is bordered to the south by the town of Bishwat, to the west by the town of Ainata, to the east by the town of Al-Qadam, and to the north by the locality of Rabia-Oyoun Argash.
The name Barqa is derived from lightning, as it is a mountainous area and storms are frequent.
The people of Barqa live mainly from agriculture, especially the cultivation of apples, cherries and almonds.
Recently, several factories were established in Barqa, including: a winery, two sewing factories, a nylon bag factory, and several tile factories. It also has an advanced health center, a public school and a consumer cooperative.
Barqa is characterized by its green nature, as it contains many types of trees, the most important of which is the lizard, which is considered a perennial historical value.
