Deir El Ahmar Region Municipalities Union
In Baalbeck-Hermel Governorate, Baalbeck District, a federation of municipalities called the “Union of Deir El Ahmar District Municipalities” was established pursuant to Decree No. 6852 dated 11/17/2011.
The scope of the aforementioned federation includes the following municipalities: Deir El Ahmar, Nabha-al-Qoddam, Ainata Al Arz, Al Zarazir, Barqa, Bechwet, Nabha Al Mehfara, Btedhi and towns that do not have municipalities: Mazraat abou Slaiby, Safra, Mazraat Beit Matar, and Mazraat al Sayyed.
Its center is the town of Deir El Ahmar, its total area is about 186 square kilometers and the resident population is about 9,260 people.
